WATER / LIQUID DAMAGE REMOVAL AND REPAIR

 

If your unit has been water damaged please remove the battery immediately, this will increase the chances of a successful repair.

Water damaged units can be repaired at our workshop, the most common units to be water/liquid damaged are mobile phones, IPods and other small hand held items, We also repair a lot of water damaged laptops.

The success rate when repairing water damaged units depends on how quickly you remove the battery and send it for repair.

Electricity and water obliviously do not mix, if the battery isn't removed as soon as possible, the components inside could short out and the unit could end up a complete right off!

If the water damaged unit is left too long before repair the components and connectors will become rusty and corroded, this also can damage the unit beyond repair.

Never be tempted to try the unit to 'see if it still works', this will only damage the unit further, Please remove the battery IMMEDIATELY and send to Radiowaves for repair

 

To repair a water damaged unit, we completely dismantled the unit and clean the printed circuit board (PCB) and other damaged components with a soft brush and cleaning fluid, we then put the PCB in an ultrasonic tank with more cleaning fluid and water. This reaches the areas missed by the brush.

When the PCB is Thoroughly cleaned it is then dried slowly and any damaged components and connectors are replaced.
